From author M. Hassan Alief comes a book that tells a tale of separation and reunion. Stuart My Brother is inspired by true real events made fictional through a shocking twist that will capture readers’ interest.
The author’s idea of creating this ‘biographical fiction’ started when a friend, Tom Abbott, tapped him on his shoulders and called him Stu. He said they both looked alike, even from the back of the head. Both members of the Optimist Club in Wheat Ridge, Colorado, Stu and the author already considered themselves as brothers—but the thought of being blood brothers never crossed their minds. The author mulled over that and thought it might be fun to write. He talked the idea over with Stu and together began revisiting the details of their past, exploring how they might be connected with each other. This book is the product of that endeavor.
Stuart My Brother details true events of how the family of Stu moved to Afghanistan when he was just a little boy, and how the author was kidnapped from his family when he was barely two years old. In reality, the author was found by his natural parents. In this book, however, he creates the fictional story of how both him and Stu found each other after years of separation, and discovered that they are indeed brothers.
